So in 1965 when I was 21, I went to the auto junk yard and found a 1911 Moon.
I bought the gas tank and the head lights. I put them on a car I built from a 1956 VW.
Originally this gas tank sat in front of the fire wall.
The gas gage went in the top of the tank and had a square brass rod that was twisted.
On this rod was a cork, when the cork went up and down the needle moved on the gas gage.
It was viewed from the drivers seat through the windshield.
You can see it on the red car. Today I took the tank out of the"Little Car".
Cleaned it and soldered the leaks and painted it again. 108 year old gas tank.
